What If Bella Was On Her Period On The First Day When She Met Edward?

I know this is a bit creepy subject. Bella spends almost every day with Edward since they started dating. So, it's natural that he would definitely be with her on 'those days' too. But why didn't Edward go crazy after smelling the open blood?

Twilight's author, Stephenie Meyer herself answered this question in an interview for Twilight Lexicon. According to her, menstrual blood does not have the same potency as "fresh" blood and Edward is (thusly) able to control himself better. Meyer quoted, "Edward can’t be around Bella when she’s bleeding without being in intense temptation–to the point of pain. A few drops would only make it worse. Like a few drops of water when you’ve been wandering in the desert for days… You’d totally suck down the whole gallon of Evian. Several girls wanted to know if Edward would have a more difficult time being around Bella when she’s having her period. The answer is yes, a little bit, but he would never say anything about it – much too much of a gentleman. And Bella would be way too embarrassed to ask. (It’s not the same as a cut, though. It’s sort of "dead" blood if you get my meaning)." 

But my point is, what if  Bella Was On Her Period On The First Day When She Met Edward? On the day they met, Edward was too much repulsed by Bella's scent that he thought of a hundred ways to lure her out of the classroom to kill her.

“The fragrance coming off your skin… I thought it would make me deranged that first day. In that one hour, I thought of a hundred different ways to lure you from the room with me, to get you alone. And I fought them each back, thinking of my family, what I could do to them. I had to run out, to get away before I could speak the words that would make you follow.… You would have come.”-Edward to Bella

If Bella was on her period that day, this would have worsened the condition as Edward would be exposed to open blood. This would have definitely pushed Edward to the extent that he would have killed her the instant Edward caught Bella's scent. Because her scent made him too aggressive to act rationally.
